Depressioned - Past Tense

I almost spiralled into a depression. Actually I was in depression mode but I tried to conceal it. Nevertheless, at the most depressing state, I had this lift away from it. Finally got enlightened. I hope.

Negative thoughts persists with you and will consume you because everyday, you just repeat the defeating thoughts in your head until it becomes your sub-conscious. When it becomes your sub-conscious, the repetitions will be "natural" to you without any effort.

One must know that everything is impermanent. Even if you think that you are unlucky forever, it will follow you through life but it will end when you eventually die.

One must know where the source of this defeatism lies. One must know what the source is but not solve it. To fix or solve it do not remove the problem for others will arise. One must let go of it, to be detached from it. To detach from it, one must not avoid it but face it and move on. It is hard to give a technical solution to this as one must experience it to know what it is.

We get attached to something when we like to have it or think about it - be it an attachment to abstain from meat or an obsession with money etc. We get attached to it because it gives us good feelings. We wont let go because we dont want to lose those feelings be it sad or happy.

Even if we are happy, it is impermanent. If we do not try to balance within the extremes, we will rise high and fall hard. It will defer from people based on their physiology.

Next, resistance to change also brings unhappiness. Because we tend to stick to our normal habits and routines that we feel uncomfortable to change. If the habits are bad, resistance to change makes one unhappy in the long run. But we cannot define if the habit is good or bad as it is different from people to people.

Therefore, balance is the key to everything. For when in balance, peace will be onto you.
