The future?

How will the future be like? To start of this speculation, I will start with the global population.

Current birth rates are unsustainable in the long run. But really, this decline is very important if the human race is to survive on earth. Because the growth in population is exponential as a result of the multiplication of multiples, the earth's resources are scarce or rather, insufficient in the long long run.

The reason why populations are declining is because of many cause and effects that has and is happening.

Economics

Till date, our real wages are in decline although the numbers do not show the facts. It has squeezed workers of their purchasing power and with the natural human instinct to survive, people do not want many children.

Because of scarce resources and the economic power in employers' hands, we have little choice (not no choice) to adapt to what we have.

Thus the Singapore's baby bonus incentives are attractive, well, in the short run.

So, in order to survive, we, as humans, have adapted to decrease population growth to the negative zone or else this capitalist dominance will make earth dry without resources.

However, there will be cycles. An era of low population growth will be preceded with an era of higher growth. The same goes with business cycles and other cycles in life. The current financial turmoil will one day bottom and will be preceded with a prosperous era of higher growth.
