The age of engineers II

In today's Business Times, there is an article "Fresh push to produce 'engineers of tomorrow'". This is a significant indicator of the age of engineers.

Since the day Havard signalled to expand its engineering faculty, Singapore, wanting to set up the fourth university, decided on a new breed of engineers that are all rounded. This is crucial because all information and knowledge are converging due to globalisation.

The era of high economic growth is at its peak - meaning the world economic business cycle has reached its peak. To enable the rapid growth that created the rapid economic growth of the world and thus the stock market's long bull run, investments in new infrastructure is needed for this century. Thus demand of engineers are set to growth exponentially, especially in the environmental segment where natural resources are depleting increasingly.

That is why, when news and reports indicate the great demand for financial staffs, it is most probably at its peak and as shown, retrenchments of employees are evident today.

However, the financial sectors will also be set to boom even more, but it will not do so in this decade or next.

I can bet on it.
